Lone tree standing at 22nd St. clearcut has survivor's guilt
Trees have feelings too.

Have you ever thought, why me?
That tree has. The last one standing after a massive clear cut at the big hill along 22nd St. in the Avenues, it's got a case of survivor's guilt so bad its leaves are drooping.
Or maybe that's the lack of water. Who knows. Still, it looks sad. We feel sad for it. It needs better friends than two port-a-potties.

"Why me?" it was recently heard to ask. "Why spare me and take my friends?"
"Worst clear cut I've seen since that business in the Truffula forest," said The Lorax, contacted while partying at the Margaritaville Resort down in Montgomery. "Pass me another pina colada."

When The Huntsvillan reached out to the construction manager about the solitary remaining tree, he uttered an unspeakable oath. "Wait – we left one? There's still one there?"
When we responded in the affirmative, his reply was immediate. "We'll take it out tomorrow."
